Right before the explosion of Metallica into superstardom, metal had an amazing run of classic albums. The year was 1990 and it seems like it was the peak year for several bands that worked hard through the previous decade. Lets not forget grunge was just a few years around the corner, and that phenomenon had an effect on a lot of metal bands, the same way a meteorite had on dinosaurs. On the bright side, death metal was just rearing its gory head...
